Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could help the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
